Your first mission
The quickest way to a working mission is to copy one that already works. You’ll start from Operation Pathfinder, make it your own, and see a change appear in game.
Set up the pack
Section titled “Set up the pack”- Download Operation Pathfinder from Modrinth.
- Unzip it into your game’s
resourcepacksfolder, so that you haveresourcepacks/my_campaign/pack.json. It must be a folder, not a zip, so the editing tools work. - Open
pack.jsonand changeidtomy_campaign, then changename,authoranddescription. ClearmodrinthProject. - Rename
assets/blockfront_pathfindertoassets/my_campaign.
Run it
Section titled “Run it”- Start the game and enable your pack in the resource pack screen.
- Go to Find Game, then Campaign, and pick your campaign. Folder packs show an Editor tag on their card.
- Start the mission.
Make a change
Section titled “Make a change”With the mission running, open missions/pathfinder/farm.lua in a text editor and change a line of dialogue. Save the file.
The game notices the change and reloads the mission straight away, restarting the current section. You don’t need to restart the game, and this is how you’ll work from now on: edit, save, watch.
If the script has an error, you’ll see it in game with the file and line number. See Debugging.
What to try next
Section titled “What to try next”- Read
mission.lua, then follow a section throughfarm.lua. - Add a marker with
/mission marker setand walk an actor to it. See Spatial data. - Add an objective with
objective.add.
To build your own map, replace the mission’s world/ folder with your world, and replace the positions in spatial.json by capturing new ones in game.
