Classes

Your class decides what you carry into a match. Press your Open Class Selection key during a match to choose one. If you change class while alive, the new class usually starts when you next respawn.

Class What it’s for
Rifleman Mid-range fighting.
Lt. Rifle Like the Rifleman, usually with a semi-automatic gun.
Assault Close-quarters fighting.
Support Mobile, heavy support fire for your team.
Medic Healing your team. Medics also see medic callouts.
Sniper Long-range fighting and spotting the enemy.
Gunner Mid-range suppressing fire so your team can advance.
Anti-Tank Mid to long-range fighting with explosives and rockets.
Commander Leading the team, with a radio to call in air strikes and support, and a war cry.

Some classes need a certain player rank to unlock, and some are limited to a few players per team. A class shows as full when your team has reached its limit, and limits grow with your team’s size. Some game modes relax these rules, and some don’t use classes at all.

Once you’ve prestiged, you no longer need the player rank for any class.

Every class has three levels, and each level has its own kit. You start at the first level. To unlock the others, you need enough class EXP.

Class EXP is separate from your main EXP, and each class has its own. You earn it for a class by playing as that class:

  • Getting kills and assists
  • Healing teammates
  • Playing the objective

Use the arrows next to a class on the selection screen to switch between its levels. A higher level changes your kit instead of just adding to it, so an earlier level can still suit how you play.

Earning the maximum class EXP in every class unlocks the Jack of All Trades, Master of All achievement.

You can’t build your own kit. Each class level has a set kit, and the guns in it depend on your team’s nation, so a Rifleman on one team won’t carry the same rifle as a Rifleman on another.

See Weapons for how each kind of weapon works.
